Han-Hong Bang is president and CEO of Hanwha Chemical Corporation in Seoul, South Korea and also is chairman of Korea Petrochemical Industry Association.
Hanwha Chemical, one of the largest petrochemical companies in South Korea with manufacturing olefins, polymers and other chemical derivatives, is recently expanding its business to Middle East, China, Southeast Asia and North America.
Mr. Bang joined Hanwha Chemical in 1981 and progressed through various assignments in marketing, purchasing and planning. He experienced serving in Hanwha Europe in Frankfurt and YNCC which was the largest Naphtha cracker in Asia. He was named president and CEO of Hanwha Chemical in January 2012 after serving as executive vice president of YNCC from 2009 to 2010 and executive vice president of Hanwha Chemical in 2011.
For the additional responsibilities, he assumed the role of chairman in Korea Petrochemical Industry Association (KPIA) in February 2013. KPIA, as the representative association of Korean petrochemical companies, has contributed to the development of the petrochemical industry in Korea since 1974.
Mr. Bang earned a bachelor’s degree in public administration from Hankuk University of Foreign Studies in Korea and finished Executive CEO Program at Korea University Business School.
